Celebrating the re-opening of The Pine Cone Review in 2025
We’re inviting poets, fictionists, essayists, storytellers, and visual artists to send in original, unpublished work for Palimpsest—a bold new section of The Pinecone Review in a new format here on Substack.
Palimpsest is a shared creative space where different voices, forms, and media come together in a single, layered piece. It’s a celebration of literary imagination shaped by the possibilities of collaboration and technology.
Your submission won’t be published as a standalone work. Instead, our editors will thoughtfully select and weave together individual pieces—texts and visuals from different contributors—to shape a multi-voiced composition. Each Palimpsest will be a carefully layered creation: something new, unexpected, and built from many distinct parts. You’ll be fully credited, of course—but the final piece will be a collective expression.
Submission Guidelines
Who can submit: Poets, fiction and nonfiction writers, visual artists, hybrid storytellers
What to submit:
Text: Up to 600 words (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or essay)
Art: Up to 3 high-res images (.jpg or .png)

Originality: Work must be an original creation by a human and unpublished. You may use AI applications for spelling and grammar consultation or for research on the theme that you are working on. Please indicate any AI usage in the body of the email. TPCR isn’t liable for issues related to copyright, plagiarism and verifications of suggested AI-informed modifications.
